Rigger – Offshore Shutdown Project

The Riggeris responsible forthe safe lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment and materialsduring offshore shutdowns, ensuring compliance with strict safety standards inhazardous environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lifting & Rigging Operations:
- Perform load calculations and select appropriate slings, shackles, and lifting gear for cranes, winches, and hoists.
- Rig and move pipes, valves, vessels, and structural modules (up to 100+ tons).
- Assist crane operators with blind lifts and complex load positioning.
- Shutdown Support:
- Work with scaffolders, welders, and mechanical teams to position equipment for maintenance.
- Assist in load-outs for supply vessels and platform module installations.
- Identify overhead hazards, swing radius risks, and pinch points.
- Follow PTW (Permit to Work) and LOTO (Lockout‑Tagout) procedures.
- Documentation:
- Maintain rigging gear inspection logs and report defects.
- Education:
High school diploma + rigging certification. - Certifications (Mandatory):
- OPITO Rigging & Lifting Level 2/3 or NORS Rigger Certification.
- BOSIET/HUET (Offshore Survival), H2S/BA, T-BOSIET.
- 5+ years in offshore / oil & gas rigging, with 3+ years in shutdown projects.
- Familiarity with QP, Shell, or Total Energies lifting protocols.
- Proficient in load charts, rigging configurations, and crane signals.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
