Job OverviewThe Equipment & Maintenance Foreman will oversee maintenance activities, lifting operations, rigging tasks, and equipment handling on barges. The role requires leadership skills, strong technical knowledge, and hands‑on experience with mechanical tools, rigging systems, and barge safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise maintenance and equipment repair activities.
- Lead lifting and rigging operations during barge loading and offloading.
- Ensure safe and correct use of rigging tools and lifting accessories.
- Oversee the use, inspection, and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Ensure compliance with barge safety procedures and equipment standards.
- Coordinate with supervisors and crew for smooth operational flow.
- Train and guide technicians and helpers when necessary.
- Maintain maintenance records and tool inventory.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance or similar trade.
Strong knowledge of lifting activities and handling rigging tools, especially during barge loading / offloading.
Skilled in handling hand and power tools, including:
- Drilling & Grinding Machines
- Jig & Band Saw
- Hilti Tools
- Torque Wrenches
- Bolt Tensioning Tools
Knowledge of safety equipment used in barge operations.
Ability to lead and supervise a maintenance team.
Good understanding of safety protocols and marine / barge procedures.
