Job Description Mechanical Technician
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
- Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Conduct inspections and routine checks to ensure equipment functionality
- Replace or repair defective parts such as bearings, belts, valves, pumps, and motors
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to improve equipment performance
- Assist in equipment upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and safety awareness
