Fire Alarm Mass Notice Technician
Position Summary:
The Fire Alarm Mass Notification Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and replacement of fire alarm, mass notification, and fire suppression systems in support of U.S. Air Force base operations in Doha, Qatar. This role works under the direction of the Fire Alarm Technician Lead and collaborates with a team of fire protection professionals to ensure all systems remain fully operational and compliant with NFPA and UFC standards.

Key Responsibilities- Inspect, test, maintain, repair, and replace fire alarm and mass notification systems (MNS) base-wide, including Fire Department control systems
- Perform functional testing of fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with UFC, NFPA standards, and manufacturer instructions
- Support operation and maintenance of fire suppression systems, including ANSUL wet chemical systems, backflow prevention devices, and fire hydrant flow testing and marking
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and meter readings to diagnose and resolve system issues
- Review system designs to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, UFC requirements, and building construction specifications
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks and maintain accurate system and inspection records
- Prioritize and complete work orders using automated maintenance management systems within required timelines
- Follow and enforce safety, environmental, and operational policies in compliance with OSHA, USAF, and company requirements
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional work environments across all assigned facilities
- Safeguard and properly utilize government- and contractor-furnished equipment, tools, and facilities
- Accurately complete timekeeping and required documentation
- Perform additional duties as required to meet contractual and mission objective
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NICET Level I Certification (required)
- Meets Mass Notification Technician qualifications per UFC 4-021-01
- One year of related experience may substitute for one year of education where applicable
- Valid U.S. Passport and U.S. Driver’s License (must be able to operate manual transmission vehicles)
- Active U.S. SECRET Security Clearance (Tier
3) required prior to deployment - Ability to obtain Air Force flight line driver’s license and flight line access badge upon deployment
- Ability to meet deployment requirements, including medical, dental, psychological, drug testing, and background checks
- Successful completion of online and hands‑on CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) defense training, including fit testing for DoD‑issued protective equipment
- Work will be primarily indoors, but may be outdoors to support various company needs
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and chemicals is likely to occur
- Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
- Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U.S. interests
- Hands‑on experience with fire alarm, mass notification, and fire suppression system maintenance and testing
- Working knowledge of UFC 4-021-01 (Design and O&M Mass Notification Systems)
- Preferred familiarity with UFC 3-601-02 (Operations and Maintenance: Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems)
- Ability to read and interpret technical publications, electrical drawings, and schematics
- Experience working in regulated or government contracting environments
