Chiller Mechanic – Qatar
Location: Qatar (U.S. Citizen – Overseas Assignment)
Employment Type: Direct Hire – 1‑year commitment (extension possible)
Salary: $109,000 – $115,000 per year, paid monthly, based on a 48‑hour workweek (overtime paid beyond 48 hrs per week, average 72‑hour workweek)
Completion Bonus: ~$9,500 for successful 1‑year completion
Vacation: Paid vacation allowance provided

Job SummaryThe Chiller Mechanic provides operations, maintenance, and repair (OM&R) support for HVAC/R systems and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) across a U.S. military base in Qatar. Responsibilities include inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of large‑scale HVAC systems, chillers, and environmental control units. Requires a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, extensive hands‑on technical experience, and an ability to work in a demanding overseas operational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform OM&R for all HVAC/R systems, including chillers, air handlers, compressors, chilled water pumps, valve actuators, and sensors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications, technical orders, and applicable regulations.
- Operate a chemical water treatment program for closed‑loop HVAC systems.
- Manage a refrigerant recovery program, ensuring compliance with EPA and environmental regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC systems, including CRAC units, DDC controls, and industrial cooling systems.
- Generate detailed maintenance and inspection reports following each service activity.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment aligned with Vectrus, OSHA, and USAF standards.
- Safeguard all government and contractor‑provided property, tools, and facilities.
- Participate in training, safety, and quality assurance programs as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC/R operations, maintenance, and repair experience with emphasis on industrial chilled water systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) systems.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (Types I, II, and III).
- U.S. Citizen with active Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid U.S. Passport and Driver’s License (manual transmission capable).
- Must meet deployment readiness standards, including medical, psychological, and background checks.
- Completion of CBRN defense training required post‑hire.
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force or Department of Defense facilities.
- Knowledge of Aqua Force Carrier, York, Petra, and VRF split systems.
- Familiarity with Liebert CRAC units, Copeland refrigeration units, and VFD control systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing industrial HVAC/R systems.
- Strong safety, compliance, and documentation discipline.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DoD technical standards.
- Technical report writing and inspection documentation.
- Experience working in high‑security or overseas environments.
