Position Overview

Engine Borescope Licensed Aircraft Engineer in Doha, Qatar is a senior aviation engineering role responsible for off wing engine maintenance, borescope inspections, module removal and installation, and spare engine management within Qatar Airways Group. This position supports engine facility operations and ensures compliance with aviation safety and regulatory standards while maintaining high operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise license authority for scheduled and unscheduled engine borescope inspections to maintain fleet reliability
  • Perform engine and APU receipt inspections, dispatch inspections, and engine transportation activities
  • Conduct module removal and installation, QEC and LRU build up, and fan split and mate procedures
  • Maintain spare engines in ready for installation condition to support operational requirements
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are performed in compliance with approved aircraft maintenance manuals and airworthiness standards
  • Support low turnaround time objectives for engine maintenance and rework activities
  • Monitor engine preservation, storage, and spare engine management processes
  • Advise supervisors of potential service disruptions impacting the operating program
  • Maintain accurate shift handover records and update technical databases in line with company procedures
  • Ensure engine release to service authorization privileges are current and compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Use technical publications to retrieve and interpret maintenance data accurately
  • Maintain adherence to safety standards, air legislation, and company maintenance policies
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of relevant aviation experience
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft certifying experience in an engine maintenance environment
  • Holds at least two engine type approvals or borescope approvals
  • Experience performing borescope inspections and QEC or LRU build up on commercial aircraft engines
  • Hands‑on experience with engine types such as V2500, Trent series, GE CF6, GE90, GENX, GP7000, PW4158, PW1000 or similar
  • Strong knowledge of Airbus and Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and limitations
  • Solid understanding of aviation legislation and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment and apply mathematical problem‑solving techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical document software
