Position:
Storekeeper - Needed for WOQOD QATAR FUELS Central Warehouse
A highly organised and experienced Storekeeper with a minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment. The role requires strong analytical capabilities and advanced Excel skills to manage material data and support Inventory management decisions.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Management- Oversee the storage, handling, and inventory control of materials, spare parts, tools, and equipment in the warehouse area.
- Ensure that materials and supplies are properly stored in a safe and organised manner, protecting them from damage, deterioration, or loss.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, including stock levels, item descriptions, part numbers, and quantity.
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies or losses.
- Monitor material usage and reorder levels, ensuring the timely procurement of materials and supplies as needed.
- Ensure the proper receipt, inspection, and documentation of materials and equipment delivered to the store.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes, ensuring all materials are complete, undamaged, and meet quality standards.
- Issue materials and tools to authorised personnel or departments based on approved requisition or work orders.
- Ensure proper tracking of materials issued and returned, maintaining accurate records of material movements and usage.
- Coordinate daily transportation of materials, tools, chemicals, lubricants and equipment to and from user sites and customer locations.
- Organise materials and equipment systematically, implementing an efficient storage system that allows easy retrieval of items when needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse or store area, following the company's safety protocols and industry best practices.
- Ensure that all materials are stored according to safety standards, including hazardous materials, while complying with regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce proper labelling, shelving, and stacking practices to optimise space and ensure safety in the storage area.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, comparing physical stock with the inventory management system.
- Identify and investigate any discrepancies between actual stock levels and recorded inventory.
- Work with the inventory team to reconcile inventory differences and take corrective actions to maintain accurate stock records.
- Report cycle count results and inventory variances to management and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with annual or periodic full physical inventory counts as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials, including receipts, issues, and stock adjustments.
- Prepare regular inventory reports, highlighting stock levels, material shortages, and other key information for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic stock and materials reports for audit purposes and compliance.
- Coordinate with procurement and other departments to ensure that material requirements are met promptly and efficiently.
- Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials required for ongoing projects.
- Provide material status updates and address any material-related concerns or issues raised by project teams or other stakeholders.
- Assist with the identification and resolution of inventory discrepancies or issues related to material handling.
- Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in store keeping or warehouse management, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock management, and materials handling procedures.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), material tracking software, and ERP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, material specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and documentation.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment, with good communication skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to handle materials, perform lifting, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in store keeping or warehouse management, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock management, and materials handling procedures.
