MCS Group have partnered with a Public Institution to recruit for a Procurement and Contracts Co‑ordinator. This role will provide an excellent opportunity to support effective procurement activity, contract management and commercial decision‑making within a leading public sector organisation.
Working as part of a dedicated procurement team, the post holder will co‑ordinate a range of procurement activities, provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, and support the delivery of value‑for‑money outcomes through effective supplier engagement and contract management.
The successful candidate will develop strong working relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders, ensuring procurement processes are followed, governance requirements are met, and continuous improvement opportunities are identified.
Key Responsibilities- Providing effective procurement support and advice across the organisation.
- Co‑ordinating procurement competitions up to £50k in value, including formal quotations, tenders, framework engagements, contract extensions, single source awards and direct award contracts.
- Ensuring accuracy of specifications, pricing schedules and procurement documentation.
- Leading supplier evaluation and selection processes based on quality and cost criteria.
- Managing contract registers, procurement pipelines and supplier set‑up requests.
- Supporting contract management activity, including supplier KPI monitoring and contract management meetings.
- Undertaking spend analysis and monitoring supplier spend against contracts.
- Supporting procurement governance, risk management and compliance with procurement legislation and best practice.
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders.
