Audit Senior

Our client is an established accountancy practice with a strong regional presence and a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and growing corporate clients. The firm offers the resources of a wider group while retaining a local, client-focused approach. This role sits within the audit and accounts team and would suit an experienced practice professional looking to take greater responsibility for audit assignments and client delivery.

You will work closely with managers and directors while supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and complete audit assignments for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Carry out audit fieldwork both on-site and remotely.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts.
• Identify audit risks and raise key issues with managers.
• Maintain regular communication with clients throughout assignments.
• Support the preparation of audit files in line with current standards.
• Supervise and review the work of junior team members.
• Assist with the training and development of trainees.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Candidate Profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience.
• Recent audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience of preparing statutory accounts would be beneficial.
• Able to manage sections of an audit from planning through to completion.
• Confident dealing directly with clients.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good working knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
• Ideally based in or within a reasonable commute of Doncaster.

Package & Working Pattern

• Salary £38,000 - £48,000 depending on experience.
• Full-time, permanent position.
