Clinical Typist Administrator - Trauma and Orthopaedics

You will work flexibly as part of a team producing clinical correspondence using Medisec digital transcription software, from outpatient and inpatient attendances. To meet the changing priorities within the department, you will also be required to display tact and diplomacy where appropriate and have excellent communication skills as well as demonstrating a flexible approach to working within a team environment. In addition these roles will support other activities identified by the Team Leader to ensure the highest standard of service delivery within the speciality team.
Mainduties of the job
We are looking for a Clinical Typist & Administrator for our Trauma and Orthopaedics speciality in the Surgical Division.
Clerical experience in a healthcare setting would be desirable. Experience with Medisec, PAS and Excel, would also be an advantage.
Due to the nature of this role a high degree of confidentiality and discretion is expected.

- Minimum of 3 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent or equivalent experience
- OCR/RSA level 2 or equivalent in keyboard and 2 of 3 typing or equivalent experience
- ECDL or Equivalent or equivalent experience
- Business Administration Level 2 Apprenticeship or equivalent demonstrable experience / qualifications eg NVQ Level 2 Admin and Clerical
- Previous experience working in a clerical/administrative role
- Maintenance of computerised files
- Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word
- Previous hospital or NHS experience working in a clerical/administrative role
- Knowledge of Trust Polices, including Hospital to Treatment Patient Access Policy
- Ability to assimilate new practices and knowledge
- Ability to deal calmly and diplomatically with a range of personalities and situations
- Team player with a professional approach to work and colleagues; able to develop good working relationships
- Evidence of liaising with more than one discipline
