Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Technician role based at Perrys Motor Sales Ltd in Doncaster. The Technician will carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a range of vehicles, following manufacturer standards and internal quality procedures. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostics using modern tools and equipment, conducting safety inspections, and preparing vehicles for MOT testing where applicable. The role also involves accurately recording work completed, communicating clearly with service advisors and customers about vehicle issues and solutions, and helping ensure high levels of workshop efficiency.

The Technician will contribute to a safe, well-organized working environment and support Perrys’ reputation for reliable, customer-focused aftersales service.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills in vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, and fault diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience performing safety inspections, preparing vehicles for MOTs, and working to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, service schedules, and repair procedures accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with colleagues and explaining technical issues in clear terms to customers.
  • Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
  • Relevant automotive technician/vehicle maintenance qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and valid driving license.
  • Prior experience in a franchised dealership or similar workshop environment is beneficial.
  • Commitment to health and safety best practices and ongoing professional development in automotive technology.
