Site Manager - No.2 - Industrial Construction
Doncaster | Live Project | Permanent
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join the delivery team on a live construction project in Doncaster.
Working as the No.2 Site Manager, you'll support the senior project lead with the day-to-day management and successful completion of the scheme.
Our client is an established main contractor with a strong track record of delivering industrial, logistics, warehouse and commercial projects throughout the UK.
The RoleThis is very much a hands-on Site Management position.
You'll be out on site coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, maintaining quality and ensuring works are being completed safely and in accordance with programme.
As the No.2, you'll work closely with the Project Manager / Senior Site Manager but will be expected to take ownership of designated areas and packages.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day subcontractor management
- Managing individual work packages
- Monitoring progress against programme
- Short-term planning and coordination
- Health & safety inspections
- Quality management
- Site inductions and toolbox talks where required
- Maintaining site records
Coordinating trades and resolving clashes - Snagging and quality inspections
- Supporting progress meetings
- Driving works towards completion and handover
We're looking for somebody with previous main contractor Site Management experience who can hit the ground running on an existing live project.
Industrial/logistics experience would be a strong advantage, particularly experience with steel-frame buildings, cladding, concrete slabs, internal fit-out, M&E and external works.
You'll ideally hold:
- SMSTS
- CSCS
- First Aid
- Relevant construction/site management qualifications
Most importantly, you'll need to be proactive.
We're looking for a Site Manager who wants to be out on the project, understands what's happening across their packages and isn't afraid to challenge subcontractors when programme, quality or safety standards aren't where they need to be.
The OpportunityThis is an opportunity to join an established construction business with a substantial track record and continued workload across the industrial and logistics sector.
The immediate requirement is for the live Doncaster project, but the intention is very much to recruit someone who can become part of the wider operational team and progress onto future projects.
All applications will be handled in complete confidence
