Field-based across South Yorkshire | Doncaster operation

Permanent | Typically earnings of c.£34k DOE including paid overtime & allowances.

We are recruiting geotechnical graduates or lab technicians with experience testing soils, concrete, aggregate or asphalt for a field-based position working across construction sites throughout South Yorkshire.

The role:

The Construction materials testing technician, carries out on-site sampling and in-situ testing of construction materials in accordance with British and European Standards, working independently on live sites while representing the business professionally.

Typical duties include:

On-site sampling and in-situ testing of soils, asphalt, concrete and aggregates.

Liaising directly with site managers, engineers and clients.

Accurate recording, checking and reporting of test data.

Working to quality systems and test procedures.

You are a graduate technician with a year or two of experience or a lab technician wanting to move into site work, training to work independently on live construction sites.

Experience of testing soils, asphalt, concrete or ground investigations.

Have a full UK driving licence, strong client-facing communication skills.

High attention to detail and quality standards.

Benefits of the construction materials technician include:

Base salary up to £30,000 plus an estimated £4k in overtime and allowances.

Overtime paid after 40 hours with additional payments for weekend work and overnight stays

Fewer overnight stays – typically once every month

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (additional hours available by choice)
