Job summary
We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a Consultant ENT Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Otology and Paediatric ENT to join our friendly and supportive team of ENT Surgeons in Rotherham. This is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover a colleague on secondment. The department currently consists of 5 Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 2 Specialty doctors, 1 Specialty Registrar and 6 Foundation/Core trainees working jointly with Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals.

Day-case surgery and outpatient clinics are provided at Rotherham Hospital with inpatient care provided at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
Main duties of the job
Virtually all aspects of ENT are carried out by the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Consultants, except those requiring regional involvement for example skull base surgery and specialised paediatrics. Day surgery and outpatient clinics are held at the Rotherham NHS foundation trust site, whilst inpatient surgery and emergencies, including on-call work, are carried out at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The out of hours on-call commitment is currently 1:13 with prospective cover.

Job responsibilities
The Department
The department currently consists of 5 Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 3 Specialty Doctors, 1 Specialty Registrar and 6 ST 1-2 doctors working jointly with Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals. At any one time The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust has 2 STR 1-2 doctors present at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust main site between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm. They attend clinics, theatres;

deal with post-operative reviews and emergency work.
The Post

Day surgery is performed at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust main site, inpatient surgery and emergencies, including on-call work, are undertaken at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
This is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover a colleagues secondment. The post holder will contribute to the General ENT and Otology service in Rotherham with In-patient care in Doncaster. The successful applicant should be able to cover General ENT, Paediatric ENT and Otology. Mrs Douglas specialises in Otology, Balance and Paediatrics, Mr Richards specialises in Thyroid and Voice, Mr Evans in Thyroid and Head and Neck surgery and Mr Pankhania specialises in Rhinology and Head and Neck.
