Academics are working with a welcoming local school seeking a committed HLTA to join their team on a long-term basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Pay: £90 - £125 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella fees)

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA with strong curriculum knowledge and classroom experience.
The role includes delivering planned lessons during PPA cover, supporting learning across the school, and leading structured group activities independently. You will play a key part in raising attainment, promoting independence, and supporting pupils with a range of abilities.

You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to help provide a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons during PPA cover, including marking and assessing work

* Lead small group interventions and structured learning activities independently

* Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum

* Use a strong understanding of child development to support progress

* Contribute to curriculum delivery across areas such as literacy, numeracy, phonics, and SEN

* Implement targeted strategies for pupils at risk of underachieving

* Use ICT effectively to support and enhance learning

* Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

* Prepare resources and maintain an organised, stimulating learning environment

Candidate Requirements

✔ Significant experience supporting children's learning in a primary setting (essential)
✔ NVQ Level 4 HLTA qualification
✔ Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths & English)
✔ Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and child development
✔ Ability to plan and deliver learning activities confidently and independently
✔ Understanding of SEN, phonics, mastery, and key learning strategies
✔ Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
✔ Ability to use ICT effectively (e.g., laptops, visualisers, interactive whiteboards)
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
