SEND Teaching Assistant Doncaster Special Schools
Are you passionate about helping children and young people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive? Doncaster’s special schools are looking for caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to join their teams.
Location:
Doncaster (various sites: DN6, DN3, DN5)
Contract:
Full-Time (part time would also be considered)
Age Range:
Various ages and needs across the different schools
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism, and communication challenges. Every day is different, and the role suits someone who is patient, adaptable, and motivated by making a positive impact.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need school experience to be considered many of our most successful SEND TAs come from backgrounds such as:
Care work
Support work with vulnerable people or young adults
Youth work or mentoring
Volunteering with children in crisis or
Supportive community roles
If you’ve supported people with emotional or behavioural needs, or you’re simply someone who naturally brings empathy and calm to challenging situations, this role could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting pupils in lessons, helping them engage and feel confident
Encouraging independence and helping develop key life skills
Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to meet individual needs
Bringing enthusiasm and creativity to a variety of subjects, from core learning to practical and outdoor activities
Creating a positive, reassuring environment where every pupil feels valued

Able to stay calm and patient, even when things feel challenging
Interested in learning more about SEND and supporting children with a wide range of needs
