Head Teacher – Field Gate School – Doncaster
We have an exciting new opportunity to appoint a Head Teacher for our fantastic school based in Fishlake (20 mins from Doncaster). Set in a 4‑acre site in a secluded, rural setting,
Field Gate is a small school (registered for 45) for children and young people aged 6 to 18 who have experienced trauma or would benefit from a trauma‑informed approach.
As the Head Teacher you will develop the leadership team, enabling pupils to have a bespoke learning experience within a therapeutic setting. You will create a curriculum that meets each young person’s needs, foster a culture of inclusion, and ensure every student thrives academically, socially and emotionally.
Responsibilities• Lead and inspire the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with local outreach provisions.
• Develop and maintain a resilient, child‑centred school ethos that sets the highest standards for all young people.
• Apply safeguarding and child‑protection expertise, and demonstrate a holistic, therapeutic approach to student care.
• Work with the Five Rivers network of schools to share best practice and resources.
• Proven background and knowledge in safeguarding and child protection.
• Demonstrated experience leading a specialist or mainstream educational provision.
• Evidence of a therapeutic and trauma‑informed leadership style.
• Ability to work within a small school environment and manage full‑time term‑time responsibilities.

This is a full‑time role; term‑time schedule follows the local authority calendar.
