Academics, acting as an agency, are recruiting a caring and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for flexible, temporary ongoing work within inclusive and supportive schools across Doncaster.

Pay: £88.94 - £100 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs, helping them to engage fully in class activities, build confidence, and develop social and academic skills. You'll work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and parents to provide consistent and tailored support that enables progress and inclusion.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, understanding, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 classroom support for a pupil with SEN.
Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans.
Encourage independence and participation in school activities.
Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all pupils.

Candidate Requirements

✔ Experience working with children with SEN (essential).
✔ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
✔ Knowledge of autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
