Cover Supervisor

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to join a vibrant secondary school in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking valuable classroom experience while supporting students in their learning journey. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who have completed their training placements are encouraged to apply.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You will oversee students, deliver pre-planned lessons, and maintain a positive learning environment. This role is ideal for those considering a future in teaching or looking to gain experience within a school setting.

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with their learning and provide guidance when needed.
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teaching staff.
• Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate secondary school students.
• A confident and adaptable approach to classroom management.
• A passion for education and supporting young learners.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
