Year 5 Teacher (0.6 FTE) - Temporary Role

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 practitioner looking for a rewarding part-time role? We are seeking an experienced Year 5 Teacher to join our school on a 0.6 temporary contract from Easter through to July.

About the Role

You will work closely with our existing Year 5 class teacher, delivering high-quality teaching and learning across three days per week. Planning responsibilities will be shared and pro-rata'd, ensuring a collaborative and supportive approach to curriculum delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and inspire a Year 5 class, delivering engaging lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum.
  • Share planning, assessment, and classroom responsibilities with the partner teacher.
  • Support pupils' academic and emotional transition into Year 6, preparing them for the next phase of their learning journey.
  • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional educational needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Work as part of the wider staff team, contributing to the ethos and life of the school.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has proven experience within Key Stage 2, ideally with Year 5 or Year 6.
  • Understands the transition demands between Year 5 and Year 6 and can support pupils to feel confident and prepared.
  • Has experience working with and adapting provision for pupils with SEND or additional learning needs.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
  • Is committed, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping children achieve their best.
