The vacancy
DN Colleges Group is seeking a passionate and skilled Electrical Installation Trainer/Assessor to join our Engineering Apprenticeships team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing the next generation of electricians by delivering high‑quality teaching, assessment, and support to apprentices both in the college environment and in the workplace.
In this role, you will provide theoretical and practical training, guide apprentices through their qualifications, and ensure they develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to become competent industry professionals. You will also contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and employer engagement.
Essential Criteria- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance
- Relevant industrial experience, including inspection, testing and safe isolation
- Ability to carry out practical tasks up to Level 3
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate with a good understanding of quality assurance processes
- Deliver high‑quality teaching and assessment in both workshop and classroom settings
- Conduct workplace visits to assess apprentices’ skills, knowledge and behaviours
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and learning materials aligned to industry standards
- Provide effective support, guidance and progress reviews for apprentices
- Undertake administrative tasks including registration, record keeping and reporting
- Engage with employers, supporting business development and maintaining strong working relationships
- Complete internal verification duties and prepare assessment materials for external quality assurance
- Participate in team meetings, standardisation activities and continuous professional development
- Contribute to curriculum development, course evaluation and quality improvement processes
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the apprenticeship provision
