The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You will deliver pre-planned lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring pupils stay on task and complete the work set. The role involves managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies, creating a calm and productive learning environment, and supporting students where needed to help them stay engaged with their learning.

You will also have the opportunity to build positive relationships with students and staff while developing key skills such as classroom management, confidence leading a class, and understanding how schools operate on a day-to-day basis.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from graduates considering teacher training, aspiring teachers looking to gain classroom experience, or individuals with experience working with young people. The ideal candidate will be confident leading a classroom of students aged 11–16, adaptable in different subject areas, and able to communicate clearly with both students and staff. Strong organisation skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to motivate learners are important for success in this role.

Previous experience in a school or youth setting can be beneficial but is not essential, as support and guidance will be provided.
