GSL Education is seeking dependable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Doncaster.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of classes in a teacher's absence, ensuring pupils remain focused, well-behaved, and productively engaged with pre-set work. Whether you are taking your first steps into education or looking for a flexible role that fits around your lifestyle, this is a great way to gain meaningful school experience while making a genuine impact.

Responsibilities
  • Take charge of classes across a variety of subjects during teacher absences
  • Distribute and oversee pre-prepared lesson materials, keeping students on task throughout
  • Uphold a structured, calm, and positive learning environment at all times
  • Address and manage pupil behaviour in line with the school's policies
  • Provide support and encouragement to students as they work through assigned activities
  • Escalate any concerns or incidents to the relevant teaching or pastoral staff
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and safety within the classroom
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people in any setting is desirable
  • The self-assurance to manage a class independently and with authority
  • Clear, effective communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • An organised approach with the ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly
  • A patient, dependable, and approachable manner
  • Enthusiasm for supporting young people and contributing to their education
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the ability to satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application
