Maple Medical PRU is a specialist Pupil Referral Unit serving the whole of the Doncaster area. We provide high‑quality education and personalised support for children and young people with medical, mental health and special educational needs who may find it challenging to attend mainstream school. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering an adaptive curriculum tailored to pupils’ medical and emotional needs.
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who may have gaps in learning or may need therapeutic input, as and when directed.
  • Be aware of and follow individual care plans, risk assessments and/or EHCPs of pupils.
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Provide a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

  • Have experience of working in a school-based setting.
  • Understand the challenges faced by students with medical needs and demonstrate empathy and adaptability.
  • Have strong behaviour‑building and relationship‑focused skills.
  • Be committed to inclusive and personalised education.
  • Can work as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
  • Bring creativity, enthusiasm, and flexibility to their practice.
