Looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant in Doncaster! Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs and helping them access education in a meaningful and structured way? A supportive and inclusive school in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will help learners access the curriculum, adapt activities where needed, and provide consistent encouragement throughout the school day. The role is focused on educational support, emotional regulation and classroom engagement rather than specialist therapy delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEN needs in class and in targeted interventions
  • Work 1:1 and with small groups to support learning and engagement
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering structured and accessible lessons
  • Help manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Encourage independence, confidence and participation in learning
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and development
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Understanding of SEN or willingness to develop knowledge in this area
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine commitment to supporting inclusive education
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one
