All in - no learning lost

We’re looking for an inspiring, enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our team on a fixed‑term basis to cover maternity leave. You’ll plan and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons that spark curiosity and challenge all learners. In your classroom, every child will feel safe, valued, and motivated to achieve their full potential. At Waverley, we invest in our teachers as much as our pupils.

You’ll benefit from dedicated weekly coaching and live feedback to help you grow and refine your practice.

If you’re passionate about primary education, thrive in a supportive team, and share our “All in - no learning lost” vision, we’d love to hear from you.

Why You?

We’re not just looking for a teacher, we’re looking for somebody who:

  • Inspires curiosity and a love of learning in every child.
  • Believes in every pupil’s potential, no matter their background or ability.
  • Brings energy, creativity, and commitment to the classroom every day.
  • Wants to grow professionally and contribute to a forward‑thinking school community.
Your Role

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Tailor learning experiences to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor and assess progress, supporting every child’s journey.
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold our school values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a consistent and inspiring curriculum.
  • Support pupils with SEND through adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Enrich learning through trips, visitors, and creative curriculum activities.
  • Contribute to whole‑school improvement and innovation.
What You Bring

You are someone who:

  • Is a qualified, enthusiastic, and reflective practitioner (ECTs welcome).
  • Has high expectations and a passion for helping children thrive.
  • Understands the importance of inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Communicates effectively and works well in a team.
  • Is ready to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact.

Astrea Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks. We value diversity and encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented in our workforce.
