Location: Heatherwood School, Leger Way, Doncaster, DN2 6HQ
Hours: 35 hours Monday 8.30am – 5.00pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 8.30am – 4.00pm, Thursday & Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm (minus 30 minutes each day for lunch). Term time only + 5 training days.
Contract type: Permanent – Term Time + 5 additional days
Salary: Grade 7 NJC

20 £ 29,542.00 - £33,673.00 (Actual salary £24,505.00 - £27,932.00)

Job descriptionWe are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across the school supporting our pupils. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and innovative person dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for our pupils. You will work as part of a team facilitating innovative opportunities, outstanding levels of care and inspiring experiences to engage and motivate our children and young people.
This role would particularly suit someone with a passion for developing communication and interaction. As well as working directly with pupils, the successful candidate will have a key role in developing and embedding effective communication strategies across the school. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will support the implementation of a consistent, evidence-informed approach to communication, helping to ensure that every pupil is enabled to communicate as effectively and independently as possible.

Heatherwood School is a vibrant learning community and part of Nexus Multi Academy Trust. It is a special day school for pupils aged 3-19 years with severe, profound and/or multiple learning difficulties.
Heatherwood School has an additional post 16 provision for pupils with moderate learning needs; and a small cohort are educated at The Bridge, our offsite provision.

Qualifications and experienceWe seek an individual with experience working with pupils with learning difficulties, excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
