Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
Location: Doncaster Job Type: Full-time (Term Time Only)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Provide additional support for students with varying learning needs, including students with SEND where required.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement in the classroom.
- Assist with preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise students during break times, educational visits, and other school activities when required.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) are desirable.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2 or Level
3) are advantageous but not essential. - An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
