1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Doncaster

Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a flexible, temporary ongoing basis within supportive mainstream primary schools across Doncaster.

This role focuses on providing tailored one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included within the classroom environment and able to access learning effectively.

Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Mainstream Primary)

Location:

Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Contract:

Temporary, flexible ongoing

Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will work closely with a specific pupil who requires additional support due to needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication difficulties.

This 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role in Doncaster will involve supporting the pupil within a mainstream classroom, helping them to engage with lessons, regulate behaviour, and build confidence while remaining part of the wider class.

Working across Doncaster primary schools, this is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a mainstream classroom
  • Adapt tasks and learning activities to suit individual needs
  • Support EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Encourage independence and social interaction
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and parents
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience supporting children with SEN within mainstream schools
  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs
  • Patient, consistent and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
