Kingfisher Primary Academy is looking for a dedicated, proactive and enthusiastic Building Officer to help us maintain a warm, safe and inspiring environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.
Position DetailsPosition: Building Officer
Location: Kingfisher Primary Academy, Doncaster
Salary: SCP 12-16 (£28,598 - £30,518 FTE)
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks per year
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 1:30pm to 5:30pm
- Support the efficient and effective operation of the school site.
- Ensure our buildings and grounds are clean, secure, safe and well‑presented at all times.
- Carry out or oversee general maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, decorating and electrical works.
- Monitor and help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Oversee cleaning staff and external contractors where required.
- Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, thrive and succeed.
- Take pride in maintaining a high‑quality learning environment for all authorised users of the site.
- Has experience in premises, caretaking, facilities management or trade‑related work.
- Maintains high standards and is committed to learning and professional development.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Takes initiative and approaches challenges with a practical, solution‑focused mindset.
- Understands the importance of providing a safe and secure learning environment.
- Believes every child can achieve, regardless of their starting point, background or needs.
- Has a positive, can‑do attitude and is committed to supporting the wider academy community.
Kingfisher Primary Academy is a thriving two‑form entry primary school with a 52-place nursery, located in the heart of Doncaster and easily accessible from the M18 and A1 motorway network. We proudly serve a diverse community of children aged 3-11 years and place children and their wellbeing at the centre of everything we do.
