About the Role

Are you confident working with young people and looking for an opportunity to play a key role in the classroom? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support students and maintain continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain focused and complete the work provided by their teachers. You will manage classroom behaviour, support pupils with their learning and help maintain a calm and purposeful environment throughout the school day.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, communicates confidently and can adapt to different classroom settings.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Deliver and explain work provided by teaching staff where appropriate.
  • Maintain positive behaviour and classroom expectations.
  • Support students with their learning and encourage active participation.
  • Respond confidently to classroom situations and follow school behaviour policies.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour.
  • Ensure classrooms remain safe, orderly and conducive to learning.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A confident, calm and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to supervise groups of students independently.
  • Good organisational skills and reliability.
  • A genuine interest in supporting students' education and development.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
