Key Responsibilities
  • Support children including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual and small-group interventions.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet pupils' individual learning, communication, and sensory needs.
  • Promote children's social, emotional, language, and physical development.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Observe, monitor, and record pupils' progress and share feedback with staff and parents as appropriate.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships
Person Specification
  • Experience working with primary-aged children in a school setting.
  • Good English and Maths skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, caring, and able to engage and support pupils.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
Desirable
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  • Experience delivering interventions or small-group support.
  • First aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Additional Information
  • The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check
