About the role

A secondary school in Doncaster is looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join their vibrant community starting in September 2026, running into the new academic year of September 2026. This full-time role will begin on a temporary basis through Justteachers, with the exciting possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach engaging and imaginative Music lessons to students in Years 7–11, following the national curriculum and school-wide schemes of work.
  • Plan and deliver inclusive, inspiring lessons that spark a love of music and support learners of all abilities.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress to help each learner grow and achieve their potential.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Music curriculum and help create vibrant, high-quality resources.
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities such as ensembles, choirs, concerts, and school productions, bringing the joy of performance to the school community.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour while fostering a positive, uplifting atmosphere where students feel encouraged and confident.
Pre-requisites
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Music in a UK secondary school (ECTs with strong placement experience are warmly welcomed).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for music and music education.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and support students of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people.
