Cover Supervisor - Thorne, Doncaster

Supply Bank is working closely with a Secondary Mainstream school on Thorne, Doncaster, seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to support the school when teachers are absent and help ensure the school day runs smoothly.

This hands‑on classroom role is ideal for individuals considering a future in teaching, returning to education, or looking to gain valuable experience within a secondary school setting without the full responsibilities of lesson planning and marking.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classrooms using pre‑prepared lesson materials, meaning no lesson planning is required. Your focus will be on maintaining a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment where students remain on task and learning continues effectively.

• Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Delivering pre‑set lesson materials and ensuring learning objectives are achieved
• Following the school’s behaviour management policy to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
• Supporting students with their classwork, including those with additional learning needs
• Encouraging student engagement and ensuring lessons run smoothly throughout the school day

• Right to work in the UK (e.g. British passport or BRP with a valid share code)
• An Overseas Police Check if you have lived abroad
• Experience working with young people through schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, sports coaching, or similar roles
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• A calm, professional, and adaptable approach to working in a busy secondary school environment

• Training or qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, or a related field
• Previous experience working within a secondary school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
