Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about helping primary-aged children feel supported, settled and ready to learn? A welcoming primary school in Doncaster is seeking a caring and resilient SEMH Support professional to join its team.

As SEMH Support Staff, you will provide day-to-day support to pupils who may need additional help with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in school. You will work alongside class teachers to help children manage emotions, follow routines and take part confidently in classroom activities.

The role may involve one-to-one and small-group support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on pupil needs. You will use a calm and consistent approach to help children develop positive strategies and access their learning.

This inclusive primary school is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where children are encouraged to learn, develop and feel secure. Staff work closely together to provide consistent pastoral and classroom support while responding to the individual needs of each pupil.

• Provide one-to-one and small-group SEMH support to pupils.
• Support children with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
• Work alongside class teachers to support learning and classroom routines.
• Help pupils manage transitions and changes throughout the school day.
• Encourage positive behaviour and participation in age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment.
• Share relevant observations and feedback with teaching staff.

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
• Experience with in a primary school, education, care or support setting is advantageous.
• A patient, calm and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience when supporting children with challenging behaviour or emotional needs.
• A genuine commitment to helping children succeed.

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
• Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
