Military RME Mechatronics Apprentice – Fixed Term 2026 – Yorkshire & the Humber

Join an engineering apprenticeship that focuses on military experience and those who are military spouses or children. This role is a 36-48 month fixed-term contract with Amazon’s Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team.

• Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on complex automated equipment.
• Conduct reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
• Use modern tools to maximize equipment effectiveness and implement modifications or upgrades on existing machinery.
• Uphold health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.

Basic Eligibility

• UK national or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK, or an EU national with settled status, having lived in the UK for 3 years prior to September 2026.
• Resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program (September 2030).
• 18 years old or older before entering Amazon buildings (September 2026).
• Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades 9‑4 / A‑C (Maths, English, science/technology).
• Not registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later.
• Will not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at Grades 9‑4 / A‑C, including Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
• T‑Level in an engineering subject, ‘A’ Levels with a bias toward science & technology, or similar.

Provide proof of all required qualifications. Original certificates or certified copies must be submitted by 17 July 2026; failure to do so will result in withdrawal of any conditional offer.

This apprenticeship trains you for a variety of maintenance roles such as mechatronic maintenance technician, maintenance engineer, mechanical fitter, and electrical engineer. You will gain exposure to real engineering projects, support Amazon’s 24/7 operation, and participate in a structured career path with continuous learning opportunities.
