This is a key succession hire, replacing a highly experienced individual retiring later this year who mostly built the quarry and infrasture so a thorough handover is vital.
This is a hands-on, site-based role for someone who lives and breathes keeping a complex industrial site running, improving, and evolving.
The RoleYou will take ownership of day-to-day site engineering and maintenance across a busy quarry and manufacturing facility, working alongside a small, experienced maintenance team and trusted specialist contractors.
Responsibilities- Keeping the quarry, batching plant, and site infrastructure operational
- Mechanical maintenance and fault-finding on heavy plant and equipment
- Oversight of site buildings, services, drains, buried services, and facilities
- Supporting and leading small site improvement and infrastructure projects
- Coordinating contractors for specialist repairs and installations
- Responding to breakdowns when required (very infrequent, but hands-on)
- Maintaining a strong, practical health & safety culture
- Gradual transfer and ownership of critical site knowledge
- Large excavators and quarry plant
- Concrete batching plant
- Fork trucks, shunters, telehandlers

Package & Benefits- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
- Profit share & annual bonus (typically £3,000 - £4,000+, higher in strong years)
- Car / Van on offer
