Steel Fabrication Estimator

Description and requirements

We are looking for a Steel Fabrication Estimator to join our Cementation team in Bentley Works.

• Register and assess enquiries in conjunction with the Fabrication Team including the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC).
• Produce a detailed estimate leading to a tender for work / contract execution with support.
• Liaise and communicate with the Project Manager and Production Manager the key elements of the Client’s requirements, risks and opportunities, constructability, EHSQ requirements within the tender.
• Liaise and communicate with the RWC and the Client’s designers to provide value engineering, reduction in potential risk areas and a viable scheme.

• Good engineering and steel fabrication / Machine Shop knowledge with a keen eye for detail.
• Able to understand engineering drawings, engineering specifications, Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Working knowledge of CAD / Tekla.
• Develop commercial awareness to win profitable / sustainable projects.
• Computer literate – Microsoft packages, including Excel (able to set formulas, produce spreadsheets, etc.).
• Early skills using Strumis or similar steel fabrication estimating systems.
