Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Engineer

We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong Multi Skilled Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in keeping operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll be someone who enjoys fault finding, solving problems under pressure, and continuously improving equipment performance while working collaboratively across site functions.
About the roleReporting to the Lead Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining plant and equipment performance through a combination of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), proactive engineering activities, reactive fault finding, and improvement projects.
You’ll work closely with Operational teams to maximise machine availability, support OEE targets, and ensure engineering activities are carried out safely and effectively. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to site projects, mentor apprentices, and help drive engineering best practice across the department.
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance activities to maximise machine availability
- Deliver proactive engineering work including PPM and continuous improvement activities
- Conduct analytical fault finding and implement effective corrective actions
- Support and contribute to site engineering and improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance monitoring and reporting systems
- Operate in line with all Health & Safety standards and legislation
- Implement and follow safe working practices across all engineering activities
- Support workplace organisation and engineering best practices across the department
- Mentor and support Apprentices within the Maintenance team
- ONC Qualified / Apprentice Trained
- Experience working as a qualified Multi Skilled Engineer within manufacturing
- Ideally electrically biased with strong technical fault-finding capability
- Experience with injection moulding, extrusion, and automated assembly systems
- Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance principles
- Ability to diagnose faults quickly and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Organised, flexible, and capable of managing changing priorities
