Engineering Geologist - Doncaster

Location: Doncaster
Salary: 30,000 - 38,000

A talented multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist to join its growing Doncaster office. The business has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality geotechnical, geoenvironmental and civil engineering solutions across the residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure and energy sectors.

The Role

As an Engineering Geologist, you'll be involved in both site and office-based work, supporting the delivery of ground investigation projects from initial fieldwork through to factual reporting. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and geologists in a collaborative environment with plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising ground investigation works, including rotary drilling, cable percussion, window sampling and trial pitting.
  • Logging soil and rock in accordance with current British Standards.
  • Collecting and scheduling soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
  • Supervising subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Preparing factual ground investigation reports.
  • Interpreting ground conditions and assisting with geotechnical assessments.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and the wider project team.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures on site.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in ground investigation or engineering geology.
  • Good understanding of soil and rock logging.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to work on a variety of projects.
