Job Title

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Rotating shifts

Location

Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access

Shift Pattern

8‑hour rotating pattern offering weekend overtime, with 12‑hour shifts on some days and a Monday to Friday pattern.

Compensation

£46,000 plus Package Plus 5% Bonus OTE £50K+

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective and efficient planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.
  • Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault‑finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment.
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling.
  • Lead mechanical repair and work with a CMMS.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and eliminate root causes.
  • Implement minor equipment modifications to support increased performance.
  • Complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering.
  • Manufacturing industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered.
  • Experience with routine preventive maintenance and understanding of a PPM schedule.
  • Ability to find and fix faults quickly and effectively.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous.
  • Proactive approach to fault finding and a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
