Job overview
The two Assistant Finance Managers’ main responsibilities are to support the two Senior Financial Accountants in balance sheet, patients’ monies and capital reporting together with subsidiary financial reporting for the Trust’s Charitable Fund and Flourish Community Interest Company.
The specific duties are split between the two postholders who will each have line management responsibilities for staff. These will be subject to review periodically.
Main duties of the job- Financial reporting for the Trust's subsidiaries (Charitable Fund and Flourish Community Interest Company).
- Capital reporting.
- Patients' monies transacting.
- Line management of subordinate staff for the cashiers function, cash books, the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Any other duties commensurate with the position in supporting the two Senior Financial Accountants.
- 5 GCSE, including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalents ) plus 2 A levels (or equivalents).
- AAT Advanced/NVQ level 4 Accountancy or equivalent experience.
- Appropriate demonstrable recent and relevant experience.
- Experience of performing Nominal ledger reconciliations.
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Experience of Charitable Funds.
- Experience of managing staff.
- Experience of Patients Finance.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures relating to NHS legislation.
- Ability to apply judgement to develop solutions to complex problems where there are conflicting priorities and there is not precedent.
- Knowledge of Charities Commission regulations and guidance
- Knowledge of Department of Work & Pensions Benefits
- Highly competent in the use of email, internet and Excel.
- Use of financial systems.
- Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Use of Centros/Integra financial systems
- Excellent organisational, presentational and time management skills
- Able to influence and persuade others and motivate staff
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Able to prioritise work and work to strict timescales
- Methodical and well organised
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality
- Ability to work under pressure
