Fixed Term for Maternity Cover

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner/Finance Business Partner in delivering comprehensive financial management support to either a Clinical Division or Corporate Directorates. The role will be an integral part of the Finance Team providing a reliable and responsive financial management service to ensure the provision of high-quality financial advice and information to a variety of staff both within and outside of the Trust, and at different levels.

Working as part of the Directorate Team advising on a wide range of financial issues.

Business and financial planning
  • To support the development and monitoring of annual budgets for the agreed areas of responsibility.
  • To support the identification of Cost Improvement Plans for agreed areas of responsibility.
  • To provide financial and performance support to the development of Service Development and Business Plans for agreed areas of responsibility.
  • Play a key role in the Directorate’s business planning process, supporting the Finance Business Partner/Senior Finance Business Partner in providing advice, guidance and challenge.
  • Prepare financial assessments of business plans, including the impact on efficiency, capacity, asset utilisation and activity.
  • Financial and capacity modelling of the impact of changes in costs and activity relating to business plans.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of key cost drivers and cost behaviour.
  • Provide information and financial assessment to support reference costs submission and development of PLICs for Directorates.
  • Communicate with all levels of staff both within the Finance Department and the wider Trust.
