Responsibilities
- Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence.
- Be an accountable professional working across the community of Doncaster.
- Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
- Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual's defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed. The responsibility of the postholder is to participate in the planning and delivery of individual care provided by the multi-disciplinary team. They will work independently under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, providing holistic evidence‑based high quality care to patients and will be professionally accountable for their actions.
They will supervise and delegate appropriately to support staff within the team and will support and supervise students and learners who are on placement, being accountable for providing person‑centred quality nursing care delivered with kindness and compassion, acting in the best interest of the patient and their families. - Maintain professionalism at all times and uphold the Trust values and behaviours.
- Utilise knowledge and skills in making evidence‑based decisions, and pursue any further training identified locally relevant to the post.
- Work within scope of competence and identify own limitations.
- Provide high quality care, safe and compassionate care delegated by a registered nurse, with patients/service users under the direct/indirect supervision of registered nursing staff.
- Contribute to the assessment, implementation and delivery of individualised evidence‑based care.
- Maintain accurate records in the patient's own home or electronically, record new problems as they are identified and report all actions to nurse in charge/case manager.
