Responsibilities
- The supply of stock medicines to wards and departments as part of a ward based clinical team
- The dispensing of medicines to wards
- Aseptic dispensing
- The delivery of medications to wards and departments
- Rotational work at Doncaster Royal Infirmary which will include late shift, Bank Holiday, Saturday and Sunday working
- You may also be asked to work at Bassetlaw Hospital Pharmacy as part of a rota
- We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Assistants to join our team. This post will be based in our busy Pharmacy Department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary which is fully automated.
- Candidates must have GCSE qualifications in Science, English Language and Maths at Grade C or above. Certificates must be provided prior to interview.
- Pharmacy experience is desirable for this post but not essential as full training would be given. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a joint qualification of BTEC Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Science with NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Service Skills.
- Applications from candidates who already possess the BTEC Level 2 / NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent are also eligible to apply for this post. Any candidate applying for this post that already possess these qualifications must provide certificates prior interview.
- Applications from candidates with non-UK equivalent qualifications must also possess a Statement of Comparability. This must also be provided prior to interview.
- The core hours for the role are 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. The late shift is 12noon to 8:30pm Monday to Friday and weekends of both Saturday and Sunday of 9am to 5:30pm. All of which are worked on a rota basis. There is also a requirement for participation in a Bank Holiday rota which is 9am to 5:30pm. When working in aseptics, there is a requirement for staff to have staggered start / finish time and so start times can be as early as 8am.
- GCSE Maths, English Language and Science grade A-C or equivalent (certificates of which must be provided prior interview)
- Basic keyboard skills
