This full-time role located in Doncaster is for a Peer Support Worker in Cancer Support Services. The Peer Support Worker will use their lived experience to provide emotional and practical support to individuals affected by cancer, creating a safe and empathetic space for discussions. The role is rooted in the values of hope, empathy and empowerment. The post holder will offer understanding that complements clinical care.
- Exceptional Interpersonal Skills and ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Effective Communication skills for one-on-one and group interactions
- Proficiency in basic Technical Support and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach to assisting individuals
- Experience working in healthcare or support services is advantageous
- A relevant qualification or training in social care or health-related fields is beneficial
- Promote self-management and links to local cancer services and support pathways.
