Job Summary

Clinical Associate Psychologist – HMP Doncaster, a Category B resettlement prison located in the Marshgate area of Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Hours & Salary

Full‑time: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, core business hours. Salary: £43,609 – £49,175 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention following mental health triage and in discussion with the multidisciplinary team; prioritise based on clinical need, risk presentation and release planning.
  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and develop formulations to support patients and other MDT members in understanding challenges.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions in line with the Psychological & Talking Therapies Service (PTTS) pathways and guidance from the registered psychologist.
  • Monitor and evaluate interventions using appropriate measures, following PTTS guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical governance, supervision and professional development activities.

  • Learning Management System to support learning needs.
  • Support from the wider team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology (entitlement to graduate basis for chartered membership of the British Psychological Society) or MSc in Forensic/Health Psychology.
  • Foundation training in evidence‑based psychological frameworks (CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT).
  • Evidence of knowledge of evidence‑based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental health distress.
  • Experience working with patients in forensic or secure environments.
