About the Role

We are recruiting a female Support Worker to join a dedicated care team supporting a young male with complex medical and developmental needs in his family home. He is a cheeky, playful character who enjoys sensory play, music, tapping rhythms, being read to, and relaxing with TV. He is non‑verbal and engages through sound, touch, and sensory interaction.

This is a very busy household with parents, two siblings (both with ASD/ADHD), and a small dog. The home is also highly clinical, with multiple pieces of medical equipment in daily use.

Clinical & Care Environment
  • Kabuki Syndrome
  • Global Development Delay
  • Poor swallow and high risk of choking
  • Chronic lung disease
  • Registered blind
  • Jej and PEG feeding
  • Drainage and feral bags
  • Oral suction
  • Nebuliser use

You do not need clinical qualifications as full training is provided but you must be comfortable working around medical equipment, tubes, and a fast‑paced care routine. For someone without prior experience, the setup can look daunting, so confidence and willingness to learn are essential.

Essential Requirements
  • Female applicants only (personal care requirement)
  • Excellent spoken and written English, clear communication is vital
  • Physically able to support a strong young person during movement and care tasks
  • Non‑smoker (strictly required due to respiratory needs)
  • Comfortable working in a lively home with siblings who have ASD/ADHD
  • Able to follow a strict, fast‑paced routine
  • Confident supporting someone who is non‑verbal and sensory‑driven
Weekend Availability

Must be available to work shifts on weekends as outlined above.

Benefits

We offer the following:

  • Westfield Rewards – exclusive discounts with 1,000+ big-name retailers, restaurants and travel brands
  • Westfield Health Cash Plan – including 24/7 GP access and cashback on health costs
  • Employee Assistance Programme – confidential support for wellbeing, finances and relationships
  • Blue Light Card – discounts and free event tickets
  • Acuity Academy – training, qualifications and continuous professional development
