Job Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Assistants to join our team in the busy Pharmacy Department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, which is fully automated. The posting closes on 14 July 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Supply stock medicines to wards and departments as part of a ward-based clinical team.
  • Dispense medicines to wards.
  • Perform aseptic dispensing.
  • Deliver medications to wards and departments.
  • Rotational work at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, including late shift, bank holiday, Saturday and Sunday working; may also work at Bassetlaw Hospital Pharmacy as part of the rota.
Qualifications
  • GCSE Maths, English Language and Science Grade A-C or equivalent (certificates required).
  • Basic keyboard skills.
  • Pharmacy experience desirable but not essential; full training will be given.
  • Must undertake a joint qualification of BTEC Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Science with NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Service Skills. Applicants who already hold these qualifications or equivalent must provide certificates.
  • Applicants with non‑UK equivalent qualifications must provide a Statement of Comparability.
Working Hours
  • Core hours: 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Late shift: 12 noon – 8:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Weekends: 9 am – 5:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Bank holiday rota: 9 am – 5:30 pm.
  • Asseptic staff may have staggered start/finish times, with start times as early as 8 am.
Salary and Contract

Salary: £25,272 a year (pro-rata per annum). Band
2. Permanent contract. Part-time working pattern.
