About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Engagement Lead to join our team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Prison located in the Marshgate area of Doncaster.

HMP Doncaster is a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire which houses a male population of up to 1,145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18–20 years.

Working Hours & Salary

Hours: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, core business hours.

Salary: £29,264–£33,510 per annum, dependent on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Responsible for the improvement and stability of patient engagement activities and patient satisfaction through effective service‑user engagement and peer‑led forums, planning and delivering projects/programmes in line with patients’ needs and priorities, involving patients (where possible) in project and training delivery.
  • Act as a point of contact and respond to patient engagement enquiries from staff, external partners and patients.
  • Oversee and manage the health champion peer support model, including delivery of Health Champion training across the region.
  • Ensure statutory and organisational requirements are met, conduct patient engagement activities frequently across all sites with timely evaluations and communicate feedback/recommendations to patients, staff and external partners.
